Interested in writing with Cengage?

At Cengage EMEA, we know that there is a diverse range of teaching and learning needs within Higher and Tertiary Education courses across Europe, Middle East, and Africa regions.

As learners and courses change so do their resource needs, and we wish to accelerate and improve the learner experience in every way possible. Therefore, we are actively seeking new content writers and reviewers for all of our digital and print products. Our main focus in Higher Education is on Business, Management, Economics, Accounting, Finance, Marketing and Psychology, but we also publish for specific regional needs within each of our core territories (including Education training courses in South Africa).

Within Tertiary Education, our primary focus is on Beauty Therapy, Hairdressing, and Catering courses.

By writing with Cengage, as an author you benefit from:

  • Dedicated editorial and pedagogical development support every step of the way
  • Association with elite author names and product design excellence
  • A highly innovative and flexible approach to delivering your content to the target market
  • International reach and strength in sales and marketing channels across 125 countries

  • Proposing a new product
  • Joining an existing author team
  • Authoring an adaptation of an existing Cengage product
  • What happens when authorship has been formally accepted?

Cengage is looking for authors and contributors to be involved in our regionally specific publishing programmes (particularly for South Africa or the Middle East). This can involve either adapting existing Cengage products to be focussed on a specific region, or writing new products specifically focussed on a particular region. Local contextualisation helps engage students, as they can identify with the regional examples and business environments being discussed.

Key content elements that are a focus of our regionally specific publishing include the following:

  • Products’ content structures reflecting local course structures
  • Case studies which reflect local markets’ specific context, challenges and needs
  • Companies, organisations and institutions used in examples and features which are locally based and relevant
  • Reflection in numerical example of appropriate currencies and realistic local pricing
  • Inclusion of local consumer products and events / scenarios
  • Contextualisation of local political, social and religious environments
  • Assessment questions which reflect local markets’ assessment style and approach
  • Language and images observe local market taboos
